Overland Flow Resistance Law under Sparse Stem Vegetation Coverage
نویسندگان
چکیده
To explore the characteristics of overland flow resistance under condition sparse vegetative stem coverage and improve basic theoretical research flow, were systematically investigated four slope gradients (S), seven discharges (Q), six degrees vegetation (Cr). The results show that Manning roughness coefficient (n) changes with ratio water depth to height (h/hv) while Reynolds number (Re), Froude (Fr), (S) are closely related coverage. Meanwhile, h/hv, Re, Cr have strong positive correlations n, Fr S negative n. Through data regression analysis, a power function relationship between n hydraulic parameters was observed sensitivity analysis performed. It concluded Cr, Q, shows same law; in particular, for coverage, is dominant factor affecting zero condition, no longer first non-zero condition. In Fr, has least effect on resistance. This indicates when correlated different parameters, effects Therefore, it necessary study stalk

Quantitative inversion of sparse vegetation coverage in desertification area
Based on unmixing model and using the Thematic Mapper (TM) image as well as obtaining end-members by ground spectral measurements, quantitative retrieval of information on sparse vegetation coverage in oasis-desert transitional area in Minqin, Gansu was done. The results showed that a wide band of TM images can be used in extracting sparse vegetation coverage of arid regions. Three components w...
متن کاملSimulation of Rain-Water Overland-Flow
Abstract. We are interested in simulating overland flow on agricultural fields during rainfall events. In this context, we definitely have to cope with dry/wet interfaces and water inflow on dry soil. The model considered is the Shallow Water system (or Saint-Venant equations) without infiltration. Moreover, the model has to be completed with friction terms. It is numerically solved by a finite...
متن کاملNumerical Aspects in Simulating Overland Flow Events
In this paper a comparative analysis of 2D numerical models for overland flow simulations have been performed; in particular they are based on the shallow water approach according to fully dynamic, diffusive and kinematic wave modeling. The systems have been numerically solved by using the MacCormack second order central scheme. The models have been tested, validated and compared using numerica...
متن کاملConjunctive surface–subsurface modeling of overland flow
In this paper, details of a conjunctive surface–subsurface numerical model for the simulation of overland flow are presented. In this model, the complete onedimensional Saint-Venant equations for the surface flow are solved by a simple, explicit, essentially non-oscillating (ENO) scheme. The two-dimensional Richards equation in the mixed form for the subsurface flow is solved using an efficient...
متن کاملSimulation of Rainfall Events and Overland Flow
We are interested in simulating overland flow on agricultural fields during rainfall events. The model considered is the shallow water system (or Saint-Venant equations) without infiltration, complemented with a friction term. In this context, we definitely have to cope with dry/wet interfaces and water inflow on dry soil. We present a simplified one-dimensional model, discretized with a well-b...
